Service Projects
Apple Valley Rotary participates in a number of local and international service projects, either through donating our time, or donating proceeds from our fundraisers
Locally, we support –
- 360 Communities – we collect food at our meetings for their food shelves on a monthly basis and adopt a number of families each holiday season
- Adopt a Highway – we have adopted McAndrews Road from Cedar Avenue to Johnny Cake Ridge Road
- Adopt a Park – we partner with Boy Scouts to clean Kelley Park and Redwood Park
- American Red Cross Blood Drive - we host two blood drives annually - our members donate their time and bodies
- Book Donation Drive - we collect thousands of books to distribute in our community
- Dictionary Project - we give dictionaries to all third graders in District 196 in Apple Valley
- Feed My Starving Children - we pack meals annually and donate
- Interact – sponsoring a group of young Rotarians at Apple Valley High School
- Kids 'n Kinship - we donate to support group events
- Making Our Moms Successful
- Meals on Wheels - our club volunteers monthly to deliver meals in our community
- STRIVE – working with kids in AVID at Apple Valley High School
- Warm Hands/Warm Hearts – Providing mittens and gloves to those who need them in our community
- And more!
Internationally, we support –
- Days for Girls - we assemble pads for girls around the world, helping them to stay in school when their have their periods
- Jamaican Dental Project
- International Village Clinic
- Polio Plus - we hold a spaghetti dinner in January and a wine tasting in October
