SPEAKER: Anne Averill, VPI Manager
TOPIC: Violence Prevention and Intervention Program Overview
Ann has been with 360 Communities for over 17 years in a variety of direct service and leadership roles in the Violence Prevention and Intervention (VPI) program. Her current role is VPI Manager, where she oversees the different programs and services offered at Lewis House, Community Advocacy, Sexual Assault Services.
When Ann was in college, her dream was to be a Spanish teacher. She really enjoys traveling and has been to 48 out of the 50 states.
Ann will provide an overview of violence prevention and intervention including program highlights.
Program Highlights
· The first Lewis House shelter opened its doors in 1979. Since then, 360 Communities has expanded violence prevention and intervention services to include sexual assault services, outreach advocacy and education.
· 360 Communities works with schools, faith communities, other service organizations and law enforcement to equip people with the tools to combat abuse and support survivors.
· 360 Communities intervenes in crises and provides a stabilizing force for individuals experiencing violence, helping folks navigate the justice and healthcare systems.
· Advocates also educate community members about domestic and sexual violence at public events and in schools.
