Jenny Leroux (ISD 196 ESL Lead Teacher) will introduce Rotarians to Camp Propel, ISD 196’s summer school program, and describe how their donation is helping provide targeted English language development (ELD) instruction to English learners. Jenny worked closely with the coordinator of Camp Propel and leaders in the district’s technology, literacy, and math departments to create standards-based content and develop a distance learning format that will be both engaging and meaningful for all students. About 1/3 of Camp Propel students are identified as English learners, and being able to offer ELD instruction for the first time in Camp Propel this summer provides the equitable access to instruction that supports English learners’ diverse learning needs.

Topic: Apple Valley Rotary Virtual Meeting Time: Apr 1, 2020 07:00 AM Central Time (US and Canada) Every week on Wed, until DBT, 2020
For the meeting of DBT, 2020 there are 32 cards and 2 Jokers. The pot stands at $460! Ticket donations are: $1 for 1 ticket; $2 for 3 tickets; $3 for 5 tickets; $5 for 10 tickets; and $10 for 25 tickets. Three lucky winners are chosen each week; the first two tickets drawn win $5, the third winner draws a card from the deck in hopes of pulling an Ace to win a share of the pot. If a joker is pulled, it will cost the winner a $2 contribution to the pot. If the Ace of Spades is pulled, the pot is awarded equally to all who have pulled an Ace from the current deck, and the drawing starts over again. Congratulations to Kevin Lovegreen for drawing the Ace of Diamond and Bruce Nordquist for drawing the Ace of Club. They are guaranteed 1/4 of the pot!
