What's New This Week! SPEAKER: Dr. Abul Sharah TOPIC: International Village Clinic Dr. Abul Sharah is the founder of International Village Clinic (IVC). He had his undergraduate education in India, earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan, and a Ph.D. in engineering physics from Carleton University in Canada. Abul immigrated to the United States in 1972, where he had a 27-year professional career in executive and management positions at companies including Honeywell, Inc., MTS Systems Corporation, and Tectonics Research. Taking early retirement in 1999, Abul established the International Village Clinic (IVC). He launched a healthcare program in the poor villages of northeastern India in 2002. IVC is providing curative and prevention healthcare services to approximately ¼ million people per year in India. IVC started an English medium school in village Marufpur in 2018. Abul spends 3 to 6 months every year on the project site in India pursuing his mission of love and service to the less fortunate in the impoverished villages of rural India.
