What's new this week! SPEAKER: Scott Ramsdale TOPIC: Christmas Family Fundraising On Wednesday, November 21, we will be raising the funds that we use to shop for Dakota County families in need through the Armful of Love program. We have adopted 50 kids and parents to provide them a special Christmas. In addition, we also contribute to Toys 4 Military Kidz. Over the past several years we have raised $5,000 to $7,000 each year for this project. The largest part of the fundraising will be from the owner's syndicate horse auction. The owners will have a chance to win 40% of the funds raised from the horse auction in the special owner's race at our Christmas wrapping party on Wednesday, December 5. There are 6 horses up for auction. There will be at least 6 syndicates. In order to meet our fundraising goal, each syndicate horse purchase will need to be $850 to $1,250. What is a syndicate? A group of Rotarians (4 to 8 members) who come together to bid on one of the horses. Syndicate members let the leader know how much they are willing to contribute toward the auction. The leader bids on the horse of the group's choice. Upon winning a horse in the auction, a syndicate will be able to name their horse prior to the horse race on December 5. |
