Shannon Braun holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Montana – Missoula with an emphasis in secondary education. She holds masters degrees through St Mary's and University of California Irvine. She currently teaches mathematics and computer science at Eagan High School.
Shannon embraces formative assessment practices in the classroom and is on the cutting edge of combining educational technology with formative assessment practices. Early in her career, she spent summers working for different educational technology companies.
Despite not having a formal computer science background, Shannon was asked to learn then teach the computer science classes at Eagan High School. She has developed a passion for the field. This past school year, she had almost 90% of her students receive a passing score on the AP exam.
Shannon and her husband Robert reside in Eagan with their three boys: Kevin, Dustin, and Oliver. Outside of the classroom she is a coach for the Eagan High School cross country and track teams and is a spin instructor at Lifetime.

For the meeting of July 13, 2022 there are 20 cards and 2 Jokers. The pot stands at $434.50. Ticket donations are: $1 for 1 ticket; $2 for 3 tickets; $3 for 5 tickets; $5 for 10 tickets; and $10 for 25 tickets. Three lucky winners are chosen each week; the first two tickets drawn win $5, the third winner draws a card from the deck in hopes of pulling an Ace to win a share of the pot. If a joker is pulled, it will cost the winner a $2 contribution to the pot. If the Ace of Spades is pulled, the pot is awarded equally to all who have pulled an Ace from the current deck, and the drawing starts over again. Terry Merritt drew the Ace of Diamond guaranteed 1/4 of the pot.
