What's New This Week!

SPEAKER: Jason Kallsen, Founder Twin Cities Wine Education & Angela Kallsen

TOPIC: Wine Education without Intimidation

Jason Kallsen started in the local wine scene in the 90s, waiting tables at high-end restaurants while attending college with the goal of teaching high school European History and Geography. After realizing that it would be far more enjoyable to teach adults how to drink, plus realizing that the wine world was basically history and geography incarnate, he proceeded to consult for Minnesota’s top wine retailer from 1996-2000 and work in various capacities in the wholesale and import wine business from 2000 until 2015.

Jason also specializes in sales staff training for wholesalers, importers, retailers, and restaurants.  Jason was certified through the Court of Master Sommeliers in 2015.

Angela Kallsen graduated from the U of MN in 2005 and has had an art studio since 2007. Around that time she first began drawing and painting the old grapevines she encountered on her many wine travels with Jason. Recently she and Jason have combined their unique approaches to the world of wine with the "Art Vine Voyage" tours, combining wine and art along with the culture and experiences of the beautiful areas where wine is made.

Twin Cities Wine Education was founded in 1998 with the motto “Wine education without intimidation.” Jason and Angela have taught over 25,000 students the magic of wine.

They travel extensively around the world, always seeking to gain wine knowledge.
