Scot began his traffic safety career in 1987 as a South Carolina State Trooper, serving until his retirement in 2012. He continued educating drivers of all ages through the National Safety Council in South Carolina and later in Minnesota. In 2019, he joined MnDOT as a Toward Zero Deaths Coordinator, a role he continues to hold while developing new traffic safety initiatives and teaching for the safety council as needed.
