The Apple Valley Police Department is looking for citizens interested in learning more about the police department that serves them!!  

It's time for the annual Citizens Police Academy starting March 29 and running Tuesday evenings until May 17, 2016.  The class will be held at the Apple Valley Municipal Center located at 7100 147th St. W., and will run from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  

The class is full of interactive sessions aimed at showcasing the awesome members of the Apple Valley Police Department and the duties of your Police Officers.  More information and registration is available on the City's website at

March 2 Weekly Raffle Update

For the meeting of March 2, 2016 there are 22 cards and 2 Jokers. The pot stands at $909.

Ticket donations are: $1 for 1 ticket; $2 for 3 tickets; $5 for 10 tickets; and $10 for 25 tickets. Three lucky winners are chosen each week; the first two tickets drawn win $5, the third winner draws a card from the deck in hopes of pulling an Ace to win a share of the pot.  If a joker is pulled, it will cost the winner a $2 contribution to the pot.  If the Ace of Spades is pulled, the pot is awarded equally to all who have pulled an Ace from the current deck, and the drawing starts over again.  Clint Hooppaw drew the Ace of Diamonds on December 2 and Greg Miller drew the Ace of Club on December 23. They are guaranteed at least 1/4 of the pot.  Congratulations Clint and Greg!
