SPEAKER:

TOPIC:  Christmas Family Fundraiser

This Wednesday, November 16, we will be raising the funds that we use to shop for Dakota County families in need through the Armful of Love program.  We have adopted 50 kids and parents to provide them a special Christmas.  Over the past several years we have raised $5,000 to $6,000 each year for this project.

The largest part of the fundraising will be from the owner's horse auction.  The owners will have a chance to win 40% of the funds raised from the horse auction in the special owner's race at our Christmas wrapping party on Wednesday, December 7.

There are 6 horses up for auction.  There will be at least 6 syndicates.  In order to meet our fundraising goal, each syndicate horse purchase will need to be $850 to $1,250.

What is a syndicate?  A group of Rotarians (4 to 8 members) who come together to bid on one of the horses.  Syndicate members let the leader know how much they are willing to contribute toward the auction.  The leader bids on the horse of the group's choice.  Upon winning a horse in the auction, a syndicate will be able to name their horse prior to the horse race on December 7.

Choose which syndicate you would like to part of and call or email the syndicate leader.  Current syndicate leaders are: 1) Wayne Hilbert (612-790-7675 or whilbert@cnharch.com)  2) Jessica Fields (952-393-3603 or jessica.lynn.fields@gmail.com) 3) Brian Bessler (651-428-4612 or bjbessler@gmail.com) 4) Greg Higgins (952-240-3377 or greg.higgins@wingsfinancial.com).  We need 2 or 3 other syndicates, so please consider a forming a syndicate.

Please bring your generosity and your checkbook on Wednesday!!!   Thank you in advance on behalf of the families we are serving.

November 16 Weekly Raffle Update

For the meeting of November 16, 2016 there are 33 cards and 2 Jokers. The pot stands at $526!

Ticket donations are: $1 for 1 ticket; $2 for 3 tickets; $5 for 10 tickets; and $10 for 25 tickets. Three lucky winners are chosen each week; the first two tickets drawn win $5, the third winner draws a card from the deck in hopes of pulling an Ace to win a share of the pot.  If a joker is pulled, it will cost the winner a $2 contribution to the pot.  If the Ace of Spades is pulled, the pot is awarded equally to all who have pulled an Ace from the current deck, and the drawing starts over again.  Congratulations Terry Merritt for drawing the Ace of Diamonds!  This guarantees him to win at least 1/4 of the pot!
