Student of the Month Volunteer: The club is looking for a volunteer to be the liaison between the club and schools for our student of the month activity. Some of the duties include sending letters to schools, coordinating plaques for students, and invitations to breakfast meetings. Please contact Robert Braun if interested. Thank you!

Apple Valley Rotary Scholarship Foundation

The final date to submit projects for Apple Valley Rotary Scholarship Foundation funding is 9/29/17. The form for submission is located on the Apple Valley Rotary Club website. Please email your submission to me so they are reviewed by the AVRSF board.

Car Raffle

Saturday, October 14th, we'll be drawing the names of our lucky prize winners. If you haven't had a chance to support us yet, you still can - we have tickets left!

Raffle Tickets: Don't forget to turn in your tickets. The weekly goal is for all members to sell 3 tickets! Members who turn them in are eligible for a chance to win one of three prizes. Only 3 more weeks till the big day!

What's new this week?

September 27th Meeting Change

no MORNING MEETING

On Wednesday, September 27th, we have changes to our regular meeting. Rather than meeting at 7am at Valleywood, we'll be meeting at 7pm (12 hours later!) at GrandStay LaGrand Conference Center in Apple Valley. We'll be having a wine tasting and will be joined by our friends at 360 Communities and the MOMS Program. Looking forward to seeing you there! Guests are $10. Apple Valley Rotarians need not pay - this replaces our regular meeting.

Weekly Raffle Update

For the meeting of September 27, 2017 there are 21 cards and 2 Jokers. The pot stands at $935! Ticket donations are: $1 for 1 ticket; $2 for 3 tickets; $5 for 10 tickets; and $10 for 25 tickets. Three lucky winners are chosen each week; the first two tickets drawn win $5, the third winner draws a card from the deck in hopes of pulling an Ace to win a share of the pot. If a joker is pulled, it will cost the winner a $2 contribution to the pot. If the Ace of Spades is pulled, the pot is awarded equally to all who have pulled an Ace from the current deck, and the drawing starts over again. Congratulations to Bruce Nordquist for drawing the Ace of Hearts. He is guaranteed 1/4 of the pot!
