What Did You Miss?

What a great looking group!!!!

We presented Dr. Abul Shara (front row second from right) a check in the amount of $8,000 to support his project in Uttar Pradesh, India where the clinic he started which now serves 100's of thousands of the poorest of the poor in the surrounding area with much needed curative and preventative medical services.

The drawing was held on Saturday October 24 at Apple Valley Ford.

"I never win anything." That's what Hugh Lenz told Rotarian Pat Selchow when he bought a raffle ticket for the Apple Valley Rotary annual fundraiser/Ford Focus giveaway. Well, Hugh can no longer say that because he was a BIG winner October 24th when he won the 2015 Ford Focus! Congratulations Hugh. The Gas Grill was won by Denise Dow; Mike Bender, Carl Holmgren and Jim Mortensen each won $100 cash prizes. Thanks to everyone who bought a raffle ticket and helped Rotary raise thousands of dollars to put back into the local and international communities through our projects! Your donations make you a part of all of the good works that we are able to do!

The Annual Fundraiser final event was coupled with World Polio Day. Hats off to Apple Valley Ford for donating $50 for every car sold on October 24th to Rotary's Polio Plus Fund, which will be matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation for a total of $150 per car sold!

October 28 Weekly Raffle Update

For the meeting of October 28, 2015 there are 38 cards and 2 Jokers. The pot stands at $462.

Ticket donations are: $1 for 1 ticket; $2 for 3 tickets; $5 for 10 tickets; and $10 for 25 tickets. Three lucky winners are chosen each week; the first two tickets drawn win $5, the third winner draws a card from the deck in hopes of pulling an Ace to win a share of the pot. If a joker is pulled, it will cost the winner a $2 contribution to the pot. If the Ace of Spades is pulled, the pot is awarded equally to all who have pulled an Ace from the current deck, and the drawing starts over again.
