What Did You Miss?
Mike Garrison is once again hosting an Apple Valley Cocktail at his home (8035 133rd Stree West) on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 5:30pm. Beverages will be providing, Rotarians are to bring an Hors d'oeuvre.

Speaker: Mike McLean, Public Affairs - Metropolitan Mosquito Control District
Topic: Mosquito Control
The Metropolitan Mosquito Control District promotes health and well being by protecting the public from disease and annoyance caused by mosquitoes, black flies and ticks, in an environmentally safe manner. The District covers the Twin Cities, Minnesota metro area which includes Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington Counties.
For the meeting of September 9, 2015 there are 45 cards and 2 Jokers. The pot stands at $285.
Ticket donations are: $1 for 1 ticket; $2 for 3 tickets; $5 for 10 tickets; and $10 for 25 tickets. Three lucky winners are chosen each week; the first two tickets drawn win $5, the third winner draws a card from the deck in hopes of pulling an Ace to win a share of the pot. If a joker is pulled, it will cost the winner a $2 contribution to the pot. If the Ace of Spades is pulled, the pot is awarded equally to all who have pulled an Ace from the current deck, and the drawing starts over again.
