Let's Get Ethical!
Nearly a dozen generous Apple Valley Rotarians donated their time and expertise to this year's Ethics Workshop, held Feb. 3 at the Apple Valley Senior Center. The all-day, interactive workshop leads high school students through real-world scenarios and helps them understand and embrace the concept of "ethics," as applied to business decisions and their personal lives.
What's new this week?
Thank you Lance Miller for giving a "Happy Fine" and volunteering to be the clubs next Sargent at Arms!
Sharon is a former teacher, Apple Valley City Councilwoman and vice president of Dakota County Technical College. As Apple Valley Rotarians know, she is also a gifted fundraiser and organizer of our annual raffle.
Sharon and her fellow Exceptional Businesswomen will be honored at a recognition breakfast at 8 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Holiday Inn in Lakeville. Tickets are available; $25 per person or fill a table for $175.
Feb 11 Weekly Raffle Update
Lucky Kevin Scheel drew the Ace of Spades on February 4 so he splits $360 with Ed Corbett who pulled the Ace of Diamonds on January 14th! Congratulations!
For the meeting of February 11, 2015 there are 52 cards and 2 Jokers. The pot stands at $32.
Ticket donations are: $1 for 1 ticket; $2 for 3 tickets; $5 for 10 tickets; and $10 for 25 tickets. Three lucky winners are chosen each week; the first two tickets drawn win $5, the third winner draws a card from the deck in hopes of pulling an Ace to win a share of the pot. If a joker is pulled, it will cost the winner a $2 contribution to the pot. If the Ace of Spades is pulled, the pot is awarded equally to all who have pulled an Ace from the current deck, and the drawing starts over again.
