Honoring our outstanding Students of the Month
We were thrilled to welcome our March Students of the Month, Derek Titchner (left) from Scott Highlands and Mykel Parham from Falcon Ridges. They each brought members of their families to enjoy free breakfast and a small ceremony honoring their outstanding achievements in academics and citizenship.

What's new this week?

The Club meeting of March 25 is a special one. Apple Valley Rotary is celebrating 30 years of “Service Above Self” March 27, 2015. Except an exciting meeting this week, including:
  • a special omelet breakfast for current members, invited past members and special guests. We will celebrate our five Charter Members: Chuck Borresen, Craig Fields, Joe Sterling, Tom Goodwin and Paul Heil. We'll also honor other notables, including: Jim Koester, Steve Mattson, Merv Nordstrom and Ed Holmes, who became members more than 25 years ago.
  • the Gnome helping to cook breakfast.
  • memories…perhaps you have one to share? Let me know!
And a special thanks to all for your club service and contributions!

Bruce Nordquist
President

Speaker: Bob Showers

Topic: The Twins at the Met

Old-fashioned monologue of stories centered around my book "The Twins at the Met". I know you'll enjoy the tales from Carew, Killebrew and others going back to the days of Metropolitan Stadium.

March 25 Weekly Raffle Update

For the meeting of March 25, 2015 there are 45 cards and 2 Jokers. The pot stands at $164.

Ticket donations are: $1 for 1 ticket; $2 for 3 tickets; $5 for 10 tickets; and $10 for 25 tickets. Three lucky winners are chosen each week; the first two tickets drawn win $5, the third winner draws a card from the deck in hopes of pulling an Ace to win a share of the pot.  If a joker is pulled, it will cost the winner a $2 contribution to the pot.  If the Ace of Spades is pulled, the pot is awarded equally to all who have pulled an Ace from the current deck, and the drawing starts over again. David Kingsbury pulled the Ace of Diamonds on March 18th and is guaranteed at least 1/4 of the final pot.
