Topic: Bundles of Love...because every baby deserves the basics
Bundles of Love Charity, a nonprofit organization based in Minnesota, have volunteers supporting approximately 60 hospitals and other organizations which serve infants and their families in Minnesota. In 2013, over 100,000 items were delivered to help over 4,900 families. Approximately 425 volunteer events were held and the effort continues to grow. In 2014, we are on track to help over 5,000 families with items of essential infant clothing and bedding.
With the continued support of generous volunteers and donors, our growth will continue until we reach our ultimate goal: that no family in Minnesota who needs clothing and bedding for their newborn, correctly sized clothing for premature infant, comfort items for their hospitalized infant, or bereavement items for a lost infant will be without these items. And stitched in to every item, will be a generous amount of caring and love which will tell these families that we are intertwined as one caring community of neighbors.
Our chartering Cub Scout Pack 227 leaders and a few scouts will be joining us this week. They are in the midst of their annual wreath and popcorn sales...these fundraisers allow them to be self supporting as a pack, and helps to offset the cost of camps and activities for the boys. They'd love to sell you a wreath or some popcorn, and perhaps you'd love to buy one. If you need a wreath and won't be at the meeting on the 21st, please contact Clint and he'll have one of the boys reach out to you.
For the meeting of October 21, 2015 there are 39 cards and 2 Jokers. The pot stands at $398 +++.
Ticket donations are: $1 for 1 ticket; $2 for 3 tickets; $5 for 10 tickets; and $10 for 25 tickets. Three lucky winners are chosen each week; the first two tickets drawn win $5, the third winner draws a card from the deck in hopes of pulling an Ace to win a share of the pot. If a joker is pulled, it will cost the winner a $2 contribution to the pot. If the Ace of Spades is pulled, the pot is awarded equally to all who have pulled an Ace from the current deck, and the drawing starts over again.
